Week Four | Final Design Proofs and Display Board

Final Design:

Final Plan for final design:

Distribution:

This postcard will be given out by two methods. One method is when someone buys a meal or takeaway meal they will be given the postcard and will then read the card and do what is instructed on it. The other method that will be used with the postcards is giving them out to the public close to the two stores in Cambridge. The postcard will reach a smaller audience than the van, as it is a smaller product and will only be seen by customers and shoppers in the town center.

Production and Costing:

The postcards can be produced in many different quantities but we have got some realistic quotes for the costing’s of the cards. 5,000 of the perforated cards will cost £299.48 including VAT and delivery. For 10,000 the cards will cost £399.98. The postcards will be effective when being viewed and the card can be viewed when given out and when walking people will continue to look at it and this will let them see what is on offer.
Who is in charge of each design element?
When creating the postcard we will have people in charge of different design elements.
Tom Adams – In charge of the background colours and other shape creation.
Charlie Hall – In charge of the typography.
Sophie Thomas – Photography and borders.

Total Costing’s:
X2 Meetings - £80 (2 Hours worth of time)
Design Process – £800 (20 hours)
All printing costs during task including mock ups (£25)
Travel Costs to desired location (£20)
Printing costs for postcards - £399.98
TOTAL: £1,324.99

Making the postcards will evolve someone creating the cards using Photoshop and then getting all the correct fonts and making sure everything is placed correctly. To create the card it will take a day to create correctly form start to finish. There is no issues with copy write as the fonts are used by Nana Mexico and the image being used will be a stock image from the website.

Dates:
The advert will be ready for the client on Friday 13th February 2015. The client will be responsible for getting the postcards printed for the stores in Cambridge. Once sent to the client the finalised print can be ready to be handed out by 15th March 2015.

Legal and Ethical:

We have looked into the issue of there being inappropriate content on the ‘#bigassborrito’ but everything seems to be ok as Nana Mexico currently use this #.
·      There could be issues with people not thinking the food is very healthy. A chart of other fast foods could be produced and placed in the stores to show how the Mexican street food shapes up to other fast foods.

Week Three | The Presentation

We had emailed Luis form Nana Mexico and arranged to have a meeting to discuss our three designs. We met up with him on Tuesday and showed him our van, poster and postcards designs on A3 paper.

In the meeting Luis gave us feedback on each design and told us what we could do to improve them for his restaurants.

Luis told us that he liked each of the designs and gave us some specific information about the poster design he was after. He wanted a poster with something on it that would sup up his company in a image or logo. For example, everybody knows the brand of McDonalds because of the golden arches. This gave us something to think about for our final designs.

Luis gave us feedback on each of the designs and then decided for us to continue with the Perforated Postcard design.

Below is our design that we presented to Luis from Nana Mexico and he gave us feedback on the design for us to improve on before the final deadline proofs.

Feedback:

Mix up the colour schemes for the backgrounds.
Move the logo to another position
Different choice of fonts
Different stock images

After feedback was given:

we have worked on some different design and have acted on Luis feedback that he gave us.

Below is the design that is as close to the final design as possible. The fonts will be changed when we receive the correct fonts from Luis at Nana Mexico.

Meeting Two with Nana Mexico:

Time: 11:45

Images from the meeting

We have presented our three ideas to Luis from Nana Mexico and he has decided to go ahead with the idea of a perforated postcard. Luis said some good things about our ideas but they could be improved slightly.

Things to possibly change with the Perferated Postcard.

Different logo positioning

Decide on a #

Try different colour background

Decide on a image or logo that sums up Nana Mexico.

Make sure there is a consistent 1cm guide all the way around the design.

When were had the meeting with Nana Mexico we wrote down some improvements that could be made to the designs.
